One of my favorite shows to watch is ‘The Soup’. I love Joel McHale. I also love that dog on the show.  It cracks me up every time I see that ‘Clip of the Week’ with the dog howling.

Does anyone out there know if that is Joel’s dog? He is a chihuahua right?

On CoworkerSalaries.com, you can anonymously post your co-workers salaries. What a concept. First there were websites to report your neighbors, now there are one’s that are hitting the holy grail of the working world.

I can see how this can be a good tool. I would love to see what the people in my office are making. But.. no one better put my salary in there!

I am about to sign up to the National Guard and see that most likely I will be sent to Fort Jackson, SC. I live in Florida and was wondering if anyone had any information on Ft Jackson.

I did some website research and found out some information about the base from Fort Jackson Website. I also found the official website, US Army Ft Jackson.

What I would really like is some information from people who attended Basic Training recently at Fort Jackson and what I may be in for. I have heard of blanket parties and drill sergeants getting rough with trainees. Does this still  happen or is this only the Marines?

I thought it was time to make a donation to the shelter in my area because I know how tough it is getting out there for people right now and had a friend who told me one of her sons schoolmates families had actually had to move in to our local shelter.

This is one of my terrors in my life. Waking up some day knowing that I was being evicted through a foreclosure and having to go live in a homeless shelter.

As a member of Bally’s gym for the past year, I am so glad that I am paying the month to month membership. I pay more than most, but I have the definite option of getting out any time I want. The place is generally smelly with broken equipment and people who do not wipe down machines. They are left wet and sticky. Not to mention the locker rooms. There are people that just seem to hang out and lounge in there completely naked. That is their work out. Freaks. The only reason I am a member is because this is the only gym near my work and I workout during my lunch hour.

Recently a coworker of mine decided to sign up and work out during lunch hours. I advised him of the Bally’s issues, but he still wanted to join. I went with him down to the gym and they tried to talk him in to everything and everything, along with signing up his entire family for his entire life. Yeah right. The manager also kept telling him how ‘hot’ the women were that worked out there. Ha! I work out there almost daily and the only ‘hot’ woman I had seen there was covered by skeevy looking guys with bad toupees.

After asking the manager about a referral discount, he advised me that they would provide me with 3 free months for signing my friend up. Nice!

About a month later, I noticed that Bally’s had not given me my referral bonus. I asked the Manager who advised me that my friend had to be a paid member for three full months. Hmm, he had forgotten to mention that before. Dick.

After 4 months I found that I had not received my referral bonus. I went in there and asked for the manager, Mike. Guess what. Mike no longer worked for the company! I was brought in to the back office with my friend and asked him to check why I had not been given my discount. As he was busy typing away at his computer he started to try and sell us on family plans. I had to advise him that I was not there to listen to this pitch, I wanted my discount. After searching the computer for a few minutes, he said, “Sorry but I do not have any record of this referral bonus.” He then wrote down the phone number for Bally’s headquarters and told me to call them. Great. Nothing is easy.

I then used the number he provided and found he gave me a wrong number. I found the proper number and called them. After 15 minute on hold I spoke to a perky sales rep. I supplied her with my Bally’s ID, even though their system requested that I enter it as I was on hold. Then, they requested my friends Bally’s ID which I provided. I was then put on hold for about 5 more minutes.

When she came back, Ms Perky advised me that Bally’s just started a referral program in August and they did not have any prior to the date I was referring to. I then said,”You mean to tell me back in April, your manager lied?” She said,”I don’t know what he told you, but we did not have a referral program before.” I was sitting there wondering… hmm, Ok what do I do now? Here this guy promised this and there is no record and he is ‘no longer’ with the company. Great, I am screwed. Ms Perky then said,”Ok, is there anything else that I can help you with today?” She was now totally giving me the brush off. Son of a bitch!

I then advised her that I would like to file a formal complaint. She then stated, “Please hold”. After another 5 minutes she advised me that she went back to my account and found that the Bally’s manager had put in my referral discount and she would start that for next month. I said, “Wait a minute. You just told me that you had no such thing as a referral discount until 1 month ago, August. Now you are saying all is OK?” All she said was,”Yes”.

What a big fat bullshitter! I still tried to press her on this, but she was like a robot. Then, I advised her that I was already to get my referral discount for this month and they already charged me for this month. She advised me that she would do it for next month then. I said,”Wait a minute, I am supposed to have it already.” She started to go in to some big pain in the ass thing about the fact that they couldn’t do that and I just finally hung up.

I am now supposed to get this discount. Let’s see what happens. Serves me right for going to some rotten place like Bally’s. No wonder they filed Bankrupcty.

A dwarf performer at a famous music festival in Edinburgh was hospitalized after he glued his penis in a vacuum cleaner during an act that went terribly wrong.

I love this story. A Dr. Woo of Auburn, WA was sued by his assistant for implanting boar tusks as a prank. While she was under he temporarily put the tusks to take a picture. The pictures got out, she got upset and sued him. Dr. Woo tried to get insurance to cover the settlement but they refused so he settled out of court and paid with his own money…$250k. Then he turned around and sued the insurance company and won $750k. That should teach the insurer a lesson..you get paid for something you jerks! anyway. Here’s what I could dig up on the case. Apparently Dr. Woo is a well respected oral surgeon with some good ratings on a couple of websites:

How can a fool like Donald Trump be considered a smart guy? Rosie Odonnell is another loud mouth, but she hit it on the head when she went off on Trump on ‘The View’. This guy (Trump not  Rosie ), always has a skewed opinion on everything and basically is just promoting himself. He has books, Learning Annex (where he just lends his name and gets a big payday), among other so called ‘enterprises’. He is the 2007 version of PT Barnum. People fall for it every day.

I have 2 Jack Russells, Tiger and Petey (Aka Peter). They are the greatest Pets of all time. Often out of control and smart as heck dogs. I have a picture of Tiger here.

Over the past few weeks they have been going crazy scratching, licking their paws, itching their bellies, nibbling their legs. They were also very pinkish. I have gone to the vet before and they advised me to use benedryl. I bought all types of benedryl including the Publix brand. But this did not help. I recently found a new vet and he was the greatest. He walked in, gave the boys both a quick shot and that was it. The shot took effect within 24 hours. All itching gone, all licking of their paws gone.

The shot is good for a month and the vet advised that it probably is rag weed or some type of plant blooming around my property.

The shot was also inexpensive considering normal vet visits. This cost me $65 for the both. Not bad in that I spent almost $300 for a vet to give me medication before. Ridiculous.
